Final Fantasy

This is my final fantasy blog, were I shall rant about my favorite Final Fantasy

The first, and overall xxxxel of all Final Fantasy games (IMO) is Final Fantasy Tactics. This game is based on a grid, where you are able to move a certain number of spaces (depending on gear, and skills). A single battle can take up to 30 min's depending on the amount of enemies you are fighting. This game also includes Cloud from Final Fantasy 7, he is a secret character.  The story line follows the zodiac braves, and has religious battle's throughout the game, because the church has covered up the real evil that is the zodiac braves. You travel throughout the land to recover the Zodiac stones, that you usually have to fight a mutated boss for, since they convert humans into demonic beasts, besides searching for the zodiac stones, you also have to save you sister several times, and other characters. This game is full of side quests, and filled with secrets. Other then that I don't really want to ruin the game, so go spend 20 bucks, and try it you for yourself if your into the Final Fantasy series, or even if your not :)

Second is Final Fantasy 7, and it is prob the most popular Final Fantasy game made (general public).  Great storyline, great characters, great battle style, as well as many side quests, including Chocobo racing, that allows you to get some awesome items, such as knights of the round (ultimate summon). Not much else to say without ruining game, just go buy it if you haven't tried it, you will most likely enjoy it.

My third Favorite Final Fantasy game is 9, it was truly the last epic Final Fantasy (IMO). This time the world was much bigger, and it also included a huge, complicated card game, with several variations of each card. The chocobo side quest is now a treasure hunt, where you find map pieces, that lead you to treasure throughout the world map. There is also a challenge to get to the end of the game in 12 hours, giving you the ultimate weapon. Personally I have never done this challenge.

The Last Final Fantasy that I enjoyed enough to mention (considering I have yet to play 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6, but I am working on finding them) is Final Fantasy 8. Personally this is the easier of all the ones I have played, the side quests are pretty simple, as well as the card game, and mostly everything else in this game. The best thing about this game is the storyline, it is a very romantic storyline, and you can find yourself getting lost in it from time to time.

Of course I have played Final Fantasy 10, 10-2, 11, and 12, but in all honesty, there not Final Fantasy's. The introduction of the sphere grid, and blitzball in Final Fantasy 10 was great, but it went in a totally different direction of what most Final Fantasy's were IMO. All the Final Fantasy's had a basic Level up, and with the introduction of the sphere grid, it is too easy to get too good too fast, while in past game's, you would have to take the time to level up, and earn your magic through AP or other forums of AP. (mastering materia, mastering GF skills in FF8, and learning abilities from weapons in 9). Don't get me wrong, Final Fantasy 10 is still a great game, and I love playing it, but I do not consider in a True Final Fantasy. 10-2 I just didn't even bother playing, bad reviews, and I have tried it, didn't like it at all. Final Fantasy 11 was a dive, they brought back classes from older Final Fantasy's, but the leveling was done wrong, and it was imposible to level solo, you NEED a party, and you NEED a complete party that can take hours to find only to gain half a level, waste of time. I Played FF11 for over a week straight, all day every day (was sick), and after about 150 hours put into the game of straight leveling, I was level 15, not worth it IMO, on top of having to pay monthly. Onto Final Fantasy 12, which decided to introduce Gambits. and for those of you who don't know what gambits are, but they automate the battles, allowing you to set what your guys do, and when they do it, and with a open world to run around, this allows you to automate your battles, completly destroying the game. Also they added chests into the game, that trigger the destruction of the ultimate weapon if opened, there are about 8 of them, so if you open one, you can no longer get the ultimate weapon.

Well thats my final fantasy input, ill add more as I think of it, I just don't want to spoil the good FF's so I wont go into depth, but if your someone who has not tried any of the series, I suggest starting with FF7, then try FF8 and 9, if you get into the game, then try Tactics, because it is a lot harder, and more time consuming, and you must be a true fan to be able to get into Tactics :)

Love ya Spawnpoint,

Though I don't necessarily agree with the choice of Tactics and I have played through it, I believe you are spot on with the rest of the games with the exception of FF10. I loved FF7 and FF8 (greatest RPGs if not games ever). FF8 had the best storyline of them all and FF7 was way beyond any other game of its time. I dominated FF9's card game and got pretty much every single card, I won so many good items off of tournaments. I think I spend just as much time playing the actual game as I did playing cards in FF9.

Which brings me to FF10, I don't necessarily agree with you on this either because I think it was one of the best. Blitzball is the best side game in my opinion and the storyline/gameplay was great as well falling in form with the other FFs.

I totally agree that the Final Fantasys are the best series ever, not series can compare. If anyone says Halo is even close to the Final Fantasys I will personally hunt them down.

Nice blog, keep it up.
